Where it begins
Colaba. Second floor. Since 2018.
A ninety-square-metre atelier above a bookshop on Shahid Bhagat Singh Road. Three sewing stations, a fitting room that gets north light all afternoon, and a wall of Italian and Japanese cloth we buy two bolts at a time so nothing sits for a season.
The process
Week 1 — Consultation
We meet, we measure, we discuss. You bring references; we bring swatches and an opinion about which of them will survive a Mumbai August.
Week 2 — Toile
A full garment in calico. We fit it, pin it, adjust it, and take it apart again. The shape is right before scissors touch silk.
Week 3–4 — Construction
Your garment is cut and assembled by one tailor, start to finish. No assembly line and no piecework — the same hands throughout.
Week 5–6 — Finishing
Hand-finished buttonholes, pressed seams, a final fitting and any last adjustment. Then it is yours, in a cotton bag.
